“These have been trying times for all of us, we’ve been deeply humbled, we’ve been broken down…” 



These are the opening words to my freshly released song “Born Of Ashes” a single off my upcoming album “Freedom Fire” - and they are true ones.



The past couple years have certainly been some of the most challenging years we’ve faced both individually and collectively. On the planet we are experiencing unprecedented levels of loneliness, depression, hopelessness and despair. The collapse of many old, outdated world- systems seems to be accelerating, crumbling before our very eyes, and it’s become increasingly difficult for us to hold onto the shores of “what was”.



I see many friends currently moving through “dark night of the soul” experiences, fighting to keep their heads above water, and I see in my community how many of us are encountering radically new levels of challenge and responsibility.



This isn’t to be overly dramatic - this is to acknowledge the intensity of what we are moving through together - a collective death and purging of the old as Creation makes space for something utterly new to enter our lives. It is an intense process, at times ruthless in it’s love, and we are deep in it right now. 



As a New Earth artist, I’m charged with the sacred task of bringing more light, love, peace and unity into the hearts of the people I serve through my music - sometimes I do this with fiery-ferocity , and at other times in more gentle, subtle ways.



This particular song emerged as a prayer in my heart for those of us really "going through it" on the planet at this time, as a reminder that even though it may often appear otherwise - we are never alone, always connected, and always supported to meet the challenges at hand - no matter how daunting or overwhelming they may seem. 



As one of us rises, so to do we all rise, and as the old systems collapse and crumble the world is literally being born anew - “Born Of the Ashes” of the old. As we surrender to this collective death, we are resurrected into new life - and a new cycle of creation begins. This is what I’ve seen, this is what we’ve came here for, and this is what I know to be true in my heart of hearts. 



May our love, strength, songs and prayers carry us through these tumultuous times as together we move through the contractions of a rather messy birth into the more beautiful world our heart’s know is possible.
